Support Staff
Wrap-Around Staffing Model
At our school, we are deeply committed to fostering a thriving environment for all students through our comprehensive wrap-around staffing model.
This model integrates a multidisciplinary team of wellbeing professionals who work collaboratively to address the diverse needs of our students, ensuring that each individual receives the support necessary to flourish academically, emotionally, and socially.
Dedicated Youth Workers
Each classroom is supported by a dedicated youth worker who plays a crucial role in delivering our evidence-based wellbeing practices.
They are essential in implementing tailored interventions, such as emotional regulation techniques and relationship-building activities, ensuring these strategies are effectively integrated into the school day.
Youth workers build close, trusting relationships with students, providing a consistent and supportive presence in the classroom. Their deep understanding of each student’s needs allows them to offer personalized guidance and create a strong sense of belonging within the school environment. They are also adept at managing students’ emotions and de-escalating conflicts as they arise. By using proactive strategies to address emotional distress and resolving issues before they escalate, youth workers help maintain a calm and focused classroom atmosphere. Their intervention techniques are crucial in preventing disruptions and ensuring that students can engage fully with their learning.
By maintaining close connections and addressing emotional and social challenges as they arise, youth workers significantly enhance the overall effectiveness of our wellbeing programs, ensuring that every student receives the care and attention they need to thrive.
Senior and Lead Youth Workers
In addition to the classroom youth workers, we have senior and lead youth workers who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our wellbeing team.
These professionals provide additional layers of support, overseeing the work of classroom youth workers and ensuring that our wellbeing strategies are consistently applied across the school.
They are also instrumental in developing and implementing targeted interventions for students who require more intensive support, coordinating with other professionals to address complex needs.
Registered Counsellors
Our dedicated Counsellors play a crucial role in supporting students who have disengaged from mainstream education.
They deliver brief, targeted therapeutic interventions to address barriers to learning, which include mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, communication issues, emotional regulation, and learning differences.
Utilizing evidence-based, trauma-aware practices, our wellbeing counsellors collaborate with students, staff, parents, and caregivers to help each student thrive socially, emotionally, academically, and vocationally. Through this comprehensive support, we strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can reach their full potential.
Case Workers
Our wellbeing team includes dedicated case workers who support students in overcoming barriers to education and learning.
By collaborating closely with students, parents, staff, community organisations, and other stakeholders, our case workers identify and facilitate access to support and essential services, including navigating housing, finances, government initiatives, and allied health practitioners, as well as physical and mental health support.
Utilizing a holistic approach, they strive to empower students and their families, fostering resilience and promoting overall wellbeing. Through this dedicated support, we aim to create a connected and resourceful community where every student can thrive.
A Holistic Approach
Our wrap-around staffing model embodies a holistic approach to student wellbeing, where every team member contributes to a cohesive support system.
By integrating a range of expertise and focusing on both immediate and long-term needs, we create an environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered. This collaborative approach ensures that every student has access to the resources and guidance they need to overcome barriers, achieve their goals, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Through this dedicated and multifaceted support network, we are committed to nurturing the wellbeing of every student, helping them to grow, succeed, and reach their full potential.
MULTI-DISCIPLINARY APPROACH
Our multi-disciplinary program takes a holistic approach to education, focussing on each individual as a whole person. Our three-pillar methodology ensures students:
- are supported physically and mentally, with a wellbeing-first approach
- are confident and independent, and in charge of their future destinies
- foster a healthy relationship with lifelong learning, in and out of school
This well-rounded methodology supports students into becoming happy, healthy, successful and contributing members of our community.
