Y Schools Queensland – Bundaberg Senior offers a supportive and grounded environment where care and positive intervention are central to everything we do.
While we don’t promise miracles, we focus on providing hope and meaningful support to our students. Our unique location in Bundaberg sets us apart, offering a distinctive campus experience that reflects the local community’s spirit.
One of our standout initiatives is the WYLD project, which encourages students to shift their mindset from receiving to giving. By engaging in community projects, including volunteering on rural properties impacted by natural disasters, students learn the value of helping others while gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by rural communities.
We are also committed to staying connected to the broader Bundaberg community. Through initiatives like the Bundaberg Community League Tag Carnival, where students, community service workers, and local residents come together, we foster positive relationships and strengthen our ties to the area.

DARRYL MULHOLLAND
Hi, I’m Darryl Mulholland, Head of School at Y Schools Queensland Bundaberg Senior. I’ve been in education since 1994, starting in New Zealand and eventually finding my way to Australia, where I’ve been with Y Schools since 2017. Over the years, I’ve discovered that my true passions lie in leadership, physical education, and biological sciences—areas I focus on every day here at Bundaberg Senior.
My goal for the school is to provide young people with a fresh start and real opportunities to succeed. I’m working to build strong connections with local industries in agriculture, construction, and hospitality, helping students find meaningful pathways into employment. I’m also passionate about creating a vocational school that not only makes a difference for the students but also for their families and the wider community.
No matter their background, I believe every student has the potential for a brighter future, and I’m here to help them get there.
