At Y Schools QLD, we offer alternative education that helps students reengage in their learning journey.
Our students participate in programs dedicated to enhancing practical and personal skills, at a pace that encourages school attendance, engagement, confidence and self-determination.
Our students come to us through referrals from various sources, including other schools, government and non-government organisations, psychologists, guidance counsellors, support workers and community services. We take pride in providing a supportive educational haven where these students can thrive and flourish.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
The Y School is a secondary alternative school catering to students from Year 7 to Year 12.
We are an inclusive school for all students, regardless of their background, ability, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic status.
As a school with an alternative program specifically designed for students who are struggling to engage in mainstream schooling, all applications must be in conjunction with a referral.
All students wishing to enrol at Y Schools Queensland must attend an interview.
Where students require specific or high levels of support, this will need to be discussed to determine how, or if, our school program is able to accomodate this level of support.
If enrolment capacity is reached in a particular year level, prospective students will be placed on a waiting list.
Enrolment applications are preferred at the beginning of each school term, however, student referrals are welcome throughout the year. Check our school term dates here.
The collection, use and disclosure of information about a student or prospective student is protected by the provisions of the Y Queensland’s Privacy Policy.
