ALTERNATIVE SCHOOLS PROGRAMS FOR YEAR 7 TO YEAR 12

Y Schools Queensland (formerly YMCA School) provides adjusted educational programs for secondary students who would benefit from an alternative learning environment and a high degree of wrap around wellbeing support.

With 11 campuses across Queensland including Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and Bundaberg, Y Schools Queensland supports students on their future pathways. We focus on taking the time to provide individual support for students who would otherwise struggle in the mainstream education system.

We believe in the power of inspired young people. Y Schools Queensland draws on our fundamental values of honesty, responsibility, respect, and caring, to create a nurturing learning environment to support our students in preparing for their life post-school.

WE PREPARE OUR STUDENTS FOR A LIFE OF CHOICE, NOT CHANCE!
“Empowering students to take control of their story is at the heart of everything we do. With a focus on individual growth and potential, we guide our students towards a future where they can become the architects of their own success.”
Y SCHOOLS QUEENSLAND Principal, Rella Taylor Byrne

ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS

Y Schools Queensland focuses on taking the time to provide individualised support for students. Although each campus is based on the same core values, philosophies and frameworks, each individual community requires its own contextualised approach to effectively cater for the unique needs of local environments, cultures, demographics, and employment demands.

To do this successfully, we invest in an interdisciplinary model that facilitates the development of strong connections within each local community.

Y Schools Queensland operates two types of campuses: Junior Campuses (Year 7-9) and Senior Campuses (Year 10-12).

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

The safety and protection of children and young people is paramount. We are committed to safeguarding children and young people through stringent recruitment processes, child safe practices, training, support and staff development. We are independently reviewed by the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) to ensure our services are safe for all children and young people.
