Year 10 – Year 12

Y Schools Brisbane South Senior provides a flexible and supportive alternative education pathway for Year 10 to Year 12 students. Our senior campus is designed to help students re-engage with learning, build confidence, and work toward meaningful future goals in a safe, inclusive environment. With personalised learning plans, small class sizes, and practical, hands-on programs, we empower students to complete their senior schooling in a setting that values their individuality, strengths, and aspirations.

Whether students are preparing for further study, vocational training, or entering the workforce, we provide the guidance, structure, and opportunities they need to succeed.

WHAT MAKES Y SCHOOLS BRISBANE SOUTH SENIOR DIFFERENT

A School Built on Belonging, Skills, and Real-World Experience

Our enrichment programs set us apart, offering opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Students can engage in rock climbing, cheerleading, and cultural initiatives shaped with our strong Māori and Pacific Islander community: building confidence, identity, and belonging.

Y Schools Brisbane South Senior also provides strong pathways into local employment through our vocational education and training programs. Students gain practical industry experience that supports part-time work, apprenticeships, and future careers.

Located beside a thriving industrial hub, our campus is ideally placed for hands-on learning and community engagement. Recognition from local officials highlights our commitment to helping students grow personally and academically.

MEET OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL

SEAN HODGSON

Hi, I’m the Head of School at Y Schools Queensland Brisbane South Senior, and I’ve had a diverse career that’s spanned both education and leadership roles. With over 10 years in teaching, alongside 20 years in government, I’ve gained a broad perspective on how to support young people, especially those facing challenges. My journey into education was driven by a passion for sports, health, and literature, which I’ve carried into my work here at the Y.

At Brisbane South Senior, I’m particularly focused on helping students impacted by alcohol and drug use, using my background in Addiction Studies to offer informed guidance. My goal is to create a school where every young person feels not only safe but also motivated to attend and pursue their aspirations. We foster a sense of community and provide the resources needed to help students take control of their future.

I invite families and students to visit our campus to see firsthand the opportunities we provide. We’re always here for a chat, and I’m confident you’ll feel the positive energy and commitment that makes Brisbane South Senior a great place to learn and grow.
