WHAT MAKES Y SCHOOLS BUNDABERG DIFFERENT

Empowering Through Community Action: The WYLD Project

One of our standout initiatives is the WYLD project, which empowers students to shift their perspective from receiving to giving. Through engaging community projects, including volunteering on rural properties impacted by natural disasters, students discover the profound value of helping others. This not only builds empathy but also provides a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by rural communities.

Stronger Together: Connecting with Bundaberg

We are deeply committed to staying connected with the broader Bundaberg community. Initiatives like the Bundaberg Community League Tag Carnival bring students, community service workers, and local residents together. These events foster positive relationships and strengthen our ties to the area, creating a truly integrated learning experience.

MEET OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL

GUY COOPER

Hi, I’m Guy Cooper, Head of School at Y Schools Queensland Bundaberg Senior. With over 20 years in education, I’ve held leadership roles encompassing operations, curriculum, student wellbeing and staff development. My passion lies in leading whole-school improvement through relational leadership, data-driven planning and inclusive curriculum design, particularly for at-risk or disengaged youth. I’m committed to supporting students in developing both capability and character, empowering them to pursue lives of choice, not chance.

At Bundaberg Senior, I aim to deepen our connections with local industries, crafting real-world training opportunities and work-based learning experiences. I value fostering a culture where every student feels seen and supported, helping them discover personal strengths, career aspirations and confidence. Together with our multidisciplinary team, we strive to empower students to shape their own futures with purpose and possibility.
