Ipswich Senior Campus

Y Schools Ipswich Senior: Grounded Care, Positive Futures.

Year 10 – Year 12

Y Schools Ipswich Senior Campus offers a dynamic and supportive alternative education pathway for Year 10 – 12 students, where learning happens in a warm, close-knit community. Housed in a thoughtfully repurposed building at the top of town, our three-level campus feels more like a welcoming home than a traditional school, creating an environment where students feel safe, valued, and connected.

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths. We proudly celebrate the many cultures that enrich our school through creative, student-led initiatives, including a vibrant mural symbolising unity and pride. At our entrance, hand-carved totem poles stand as a daily reminder of our core values: respect, integrity, and community.

WHAT MAKES Y SCHOOLS IPSWICH SENIOR DIFFERENT

A Community-Centred School Where Every Student Belongs

Y Schools Ipswich Senior goes beyond traditional education, we serve as a true community hub. Programs like Rainbow Chaos and the Next G Youth Group create safe, affirming spaces where students can express themselves, build confidence, and form meaningful connections.

Our relationship-focused approach sets us apart. We work closely with every student to ensure they feel safe, supported, and included. Through partnerships such as our collaboration with Villa Maria Nursing Home, students gain valuable life experience and contribute positively to the local community, reinforcing a sense of purpose and pride.

We also maintain strong links with our junior campus at Bundamba, providing a smooth and consistent pathway from Year 7 to Year 12. Ipswich Senior Campus is more than a school, it’s a nurturing, connected environment where young people are empowered to grow, discover who they are, and truly thrive.

MEET OUR HEAD OF CAMPUS

KACIE HOWARD

Hi, I’m Kacie Howard, Head of School at Y Schools Queensland Ipswich, based at Ipswich Senior.

I began my journey in education in 2008 and have since worked in a variety of complex P–12 and High School settings across Ipswich and North Queensland. My experience also includes working in several Special Schools and leading a school-based Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that supported 29 special schools across Queensland.

These experiences and the leadership positions I held, I have fostered a strong passion for Senior Schooling, Vocational Education, and creating meaningful post-school pathways—particularly for students who are disadvantaged or disengaged from traditional education. I believe in every student’s potential and am committed to helping them re-engage, rebuild confidence, and achieve success.

My goal at Y Schools is to provide young people with a fresh start in a supportive, inclusive environment. Through the Y’s holistic approach to student engagement and wellbeing, we work to remove barriers and create opportunities for every student to thrive.

As someone who grew up in Ipswich and remains deeply connected to the local community, I am focused on strengthening community and industry partnerships and developing locally relevant pathways that lead to real, lasting employability outcomes for our students.

Education has the power to change lives—and I’m here to help our students see what’s possible and support them in getting there.
